Saadhan: Engineering Pokhara’s First
Real-Time Ride-Sharing Ecosystem
A complete mobility infrastructure designed specifically for Pokhara’s topography. Featuring synchronized dual mobile apps, sub-second GPS tracking, distributed dispatch queues, and high-concurrency fare settlement.
The Challenge & The Solution
Geospatial Concurrency
Pokhara’s unique geography demanded a localized platform. The challenge was building an infrastructure capable of handling thousands of concurrent websocket connections, real-time driver tracking, and instant fare calculations without draining the mobile battery.
Three-Pillar Synchronized Architecture
We architected a three-pillar ecosystem: A cross-platform Rider App, a dedicated Driver App, and a centralized web dashboard. By focusing on asynchronous backend processing, we ensured a seamlessly synchronized trip from request to drop-off.
Deep Dive: The Architecture
How Aarambha IT designed the high-concurrency backbone powering Saadhan.
Low-Latency WebSockets & Redis Pub/Sub
Leveraged Redis pub/sub channels and persistent WebSocket streams to push live driver GPS pings directly to riders with sub-second latency.
Asynchronous Routing with Celery
Utilized Celery background workers to handle heavy asynchronous tasks like multi-point routing, surge pricing algorithms, and dispatch queues without blocking API threads.
Containerized Deployment & Postgres Ledger
Deployed reproducible Docker containers backed by PostgreSQL and PostGIS to guarantee zero data loss and sub-meter geospatial querying.
Engineering Stack
Flutter
Cross-platform UI for Rider & Driver apps with offline resilience
Python (FastAPI & Django)
FastAPI for high-speed dispatching, Django for core logic
Docker & Redis
Containerized services and in-memory WebSocket broker
PostgreSQL
PostGIS geospatial indexing and strict ACID ledger
The Saadhan Story: Ahead of the Curve

Proven Architecture & Real-World Validation
Incubated by Aarambha IT Research Center • Launched in Pokhara, Nepal
Saadhan wasn't just a client project; it was an ambitious startup incubated by Aarambha IT. Built with Flutter, a Python backend, Google Maps integration, and hosted on a scalable VPS Cloud Server, it was designed to be Pokhara's premier ride-sharing platform. The app was an instant hit, validating our technical architecture and market research. However, due to unforeseen policy hurdles from the Nepal Government and being slightly too early for mass market adoption, we had to temporarily suspend operations within the first year. The technology is proven, the market demand is clear, and Saadhan will be back soon.
⚠️ App Store & Google Play links temporarily offline. Stay tuned for the relaunch.
